The music department took a trip to St. Louis over the weekend. The first day we were there we stopped at the Arch. It is also a national park, and was very cool to see in person. We went to a symphony, ate dinner at an Italian restaurant, and then went back to the hotel. The next day we went to the City Museum, which was very overwhelming. There were kids running everywhere and no quiet places to sit in. We then went to a Jazz show at a jazz club that was AMAZING. I loved it. We also went on a tour of the Fox theater which was beautiful and such an important part of history in St. Louis, the whole theme of the theater was so different. There were religious symbols, and jungle animals. Also a lot of gold and dark red. Our last day, we were given the choice between two museums. Art or history. I chose art. I love art museums. The museum was very pretty, and had a lot to offer for being in the midwest. The last thing we did while in St. Louis was going to Union Station. There was some sort of farmers market going on while we were there. Each business had a little summary about them. As I looked around, I felt refreshed. Almost all of the stands there were women-owned. They were all locally owned businesses. Clothes, jewelry, plants, types of drinks, and lotion/scent products. It makes me think about how the place where I live could have a locally owned festival just for businesses owned by women.
