On November 12, 2021, Taylor Swift re-released her album Red. Originally put out in October of 2012, it was a success this year too. Right now, Taylor is in the process of re-recording all of her old music so that she can own the rights to her masters. All of her music that she owns has a (Taylor's Version) attached to it. With the new recordings, she also includes songs that were written during that time period, but never shown to the public. Among these songs from the vault, is the ten minute version of one her most famous songs, All Too Well. For many, this song is an anthem of heartbreak and power within yourself. The reason I chose to focus on this song, is because I think that the fact that Taylor was able to release a song saying "fuck the patriarchy" speaks volumes for how she has been able to reclaim her own public image. In years past, she has censored everything she has said, and tried to remain polite and non-political. But, after the release of her album Lover, she has really started to speak her mind. I think this could be a good lesson for all young women. Taylor now talks openly about LGBTQ+ rights, feminism, and voting. The re-recordings of her albums have given a new generation an emblem of social justice and strength.
